Starting a new school is an exciting time for children and parents. By working in partnership with you we aim to provide your child with the best possible start to their school life at Victoria Avenue.

Victoria Avenue School caters for students from Year 1 to Year 6. 

The age range for students at our school is from 5 to 11 years old.

ALL STUDENTS

Pre-enrolment:

Prior to completing your formal enrolment we need you to fill in a pre-enrolment form or ballot form if you live out of our school zone.  Click here to check our zone and your eligibility to attend our school.

Once you have submitted your Application for In Zone Enrolment, we will contact you with next steps which includes completing the digital enrolment form. You will need a digital copy of your child’s NZ Birth certificate or passport, or Visa and a copy of your child’s Immunisation certificate. These will be uploaded into the form.

For students who are older than 5, the first step is to complete a pre-enrolment form. You will then need to arrange an appointment with us to complete the enrolment.  Please click here to email for an appointment.

We appreciate you completing the forms as soon as you know you will send your child to Victoria Avenue School as it helps us with our planning. We will provide more information to complete the enrolment process once we have received your pre-enrolment forms.

IN ZONE ENROLMENT:

Parents living in our school zone should complete an application form when their children are 4 years of age.

To complete this form you will need to sign the form as a statutory declaration. A Justice of the peace can witness your signature.

OUT OF ZONE ENROLMENT:

The board invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Victoria Avenue School for next year. Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are above.

The deadline for receipt of applications for out-of-zone places is Wednesday, 8 October 2025. Click for application forms for out of zone enrolments. 

The board has determined that 81 places are likely to be available for out-of-zone students next year. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.

If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot is required it will be held on Wednesday, 15 October 2025.

Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.

Parents of students who live within the home zone should also apply by this date to assist the school to plan appropriately for next year. Click for application forms for in zone enrolments. SCHOOL TOURS:

Click here to book for a pre-enrolment talk with the Principal and a tour of our school. Tours are offered once per term on a Wednesday evening from 5pm to 6pm and your children are welcome to attend.
